THE BROOKLYN BODEGA ASSOCIATION
The Brooklyn Bodega Association collection is a curated set of collectible tees, sweatshirts and other common goods that can be found in and around any local neighborhood bodega. In and around all 5 boroughs of NYC the bodega corner store is how millions of New Yorkers start & end their day. A stop inside before you hit the train to head into the city with your newspaper, and egg sandwich or maybe an everything bagel or a turkey, cheese tomato & lettuce. A pack of bogies, and drink. A new lighter and some fonto or grabba, the pick 4 for moms and when the lotto goes up to a half a billion dollars, you’ve gotta grab a quick pick. Where are you going? It’s an afterthought. You’re going to the corner.
When you were younger, it was grape Fanta, popsicles, strawberry shortcakes, and Italian ices if the Ice cream truck wasn’t in the hood. Poppy or Aki watched you group up in the neighborhood coming and going in and out of their store. Day after day, week after week, year after year. He saw how you went from buying Chocolate milk to buying 6 packs of Heinekens to split down at the park with your homies that you came up with. This collection is an ode to the relationship we all have to our neighborhood bodegas and the people that make them run. This collection is limited and will not be on sale regularly but there will be installments of items sold on a limited basis.
